Medgadget Now Available in Spanish

medgadgetspanish.jpgMedical technology affects just about every person in the world in one way or another. Because we write in English, a majority of the world’s population can’t read this site, and automatic online translators simply can’t translate industry specific, professional material. We believe in expanding access to our medical content and so would like to present Spanish Medgadget. We are now professionally translating our posts into Spanish, and if you prefer Medgadget en Español, head on over to es.medgadget.com or to Medgadget Español on Facebook.

New Version of Physio-Control’s LIFENET Now Available

Medtronic‘s Physio-Control division just launched a new version of its popular patient management system that relays data on patient status from ambulances to clinicians awaiting back at the hospital. The LIFENET 4.1 now features an adapter to interface with various models of ECGs for automatic coordination of telemetry with cardiologists, allowing docs to have substantial prep before the patient even gets there.

New features in LIFENET 4.1:

  • LIFENET Adapter — Enables data from multiple 12-lead management systems to be routed through the LIFENET System, allowing hospitals to standardize on one system to receive patient data from the field.
  • LIFENET Connect — Allows data to be sent automatically from LIFEPAK(R) monitor/defibrillators directly into CODE-STAT, Physio-Control’s post-event review software. LIFENET Connect sends this data via the internet while the LIFEPAK device is still in the ambulance, thereby providing increased operational efficiency.
  • LIFENET Export — Enables data to be exported from the LIFENET(R) System into hospital information systems.
  • LIFENET Archive — Permits storage of 12-lead ECG and vital sign reports on a local desktop computer.
  • LIFENET Asset –Provides users with a web-based system to track LIFEPAK device inventory. LIFEPAK service and maintenance information is downloaded to and accessible from the LIFENET System, allowing EMS personnel to spend less time on administrative duties and focus more on saving lives.
